Wir bewegen uns hier von einem Krieg zum anderen. Das macht einen sprachlos. Ich weiß nicht mehr, was ich dazu sagen soll. Früher waren wir naiv. Jetzt warten wir einfach ab. Ich habe heute Pflanzen beim Gärtner gekauft. Lasst uns mit der Erde spielen, solange sie uns noch gehört. Ich möchte nicht über die Zukunft reden.

Ich wurde 1941 geboren. Noch vor der Geburt Israels. Mir stand es nicht frei, Israel zu wählen. Israel hat mich gewählt. Israel kam zu mir. Seine Ankunft war nicht schön, sie war eine Katastrophe.
